What is a Bryn Gweled Member?
A Bryn Gweled Homesteads (BG) member is a person who has gone through steps to become an approved applicant, a process that typically takes between six months and a year, and has signed a lease on the land for one of the 79 available lots. The land is owned by all members and is set up as a cooperative. Each two-acre plot is leased to members for 99 years. The rate of turnover of houses in Bryn Gweled is somewhat slower than in the average U.S. community, but times come when people need to move, for a variety of reasons. When a house becomes available, an applicant or couple may purchase it from a departing member and become a leaseholder at the same time.
